Above the dial, traditional dancers rotate on the balcony during the musical performance, bringing the festive feeling of a Bavarian celebration to life every hour. This clock is the EX version, a special designation used by HEKAS for models featuring authentic wooden components. The clock includes a handcrafted wooden cuckoo bird, a solid wood dial, wooden hands, and wooden numerals, emphasizing the natural beauty and traditional craftsmanship of genuine Black Forest cuckoo clocks.

Inside the clock beats a traditional 8-day mechanical movement, meaning the clock only needs to be wound once per week using the classic pinecone weights. Every hour the cuckoo bird appears to announce the time, followed by a musical performance. The clock alternates between the beloved melodies “Edelweiss” and “The Happy Wanderer”, switching each hour for a delightful variety. A convenient strike shut-off allows you to silence the cuckoo and music whenever desired.
