Designed in the classic Black Forest chalet style, this clock tells a small alpine story: beside the house, a hardworking woodchopper moves as he splits logs, while a decorative mill wheel turns and a loyal dog stands watch nearby. Surrounded by carved trees and detailed wooden elements, the scene captures the peaceful atmosphere of a mountain village.

This clock is the EX version, a special designation used by HEKAS for models featuring authentic wooden details. It includes a handcrafted wooden cuckoo bird, a solid wood dial, wooden hands, and wooden numerals, giving the clock a particularly warm and traditional appearance that reflects true Black Forest craftsmanship.

Inside, the clock is powered by a traditional 8-day mechanical movement, meaning it only needs to be wound once per week using the classic pinecone weights. Every hour the cuckoo bird appears to call the time, followed by one of two beloved melodies. The clock alternates between “The Happy Wanderer” and “Edelweiss” each hour, bringing a cheerful musical touch to the room. A convenient strike shut-off allows you to silence the sound whenever you wish.
