Electric Light Arch with 10 Candles – White (Battery-Operated)

The Battery-Operated Electric Light Arch with 10 Candles – White is a beautifully handcrafted interpretation of one of the most beloved symbols of traditional German Christmas culture, created by our FRIEND partner Gahlenz.

Made from solid wood and finished in an elegant white tone complemented by sophisticated gold-colored candle holders, this classic Schwibbogen features a graceful, expanded arched silhouette with ten evenly arranged candle-style lights. Its clean, timeless design reflects the traditional character of Erzgebirge Christmas decorations, while the white and gold finish gives the piece a distinctive, refined appearance. The solid wooden construction highlights the quality of the craftsmanship and gives the light arch a substantial, warm presence.

The light arch is battery-operated, with each individual candle designed to house its own battery directly inside the candle fixture. Operating on independent batteries rather than a traditional corded power supply gives you total freedom in where you place it, allowing the candles to glow warmly anywhere you choose without needing a nearby wall outlet or unsightly wires. This soft illumination creates a welcoming and festive atmosphere and makes the Schwibbogen especially beautiful when displayed in a window, on a sideboard, mantel, or as the centerpiece of a traditional Christmas arrangement.

The Schwibbogen has a long and meaningful tradition in Germany’s Ore Mountains (Erzgebirge). Originally inspired by the mining heritage of the region, these illuminated arches became symbols of light during the dark winter months. For generations, families have placed Schwibbögen in their windows during Advent and Christmas, creating the warm, glowing atmosphere that has become inseparably connected with traditional Erzgebirge Christmas culture.

With its ten independently powered lights, solid wood construction, convenient individual battery operation, and elegant white-and-gold finish, the Handcrafted White Battery-Operated Light Arch with 10 Candles brings authentic German Christmas tradition and warm seasonal illumination into your home. It can be displayed on its own or combined with nutcrackers, incense smokers, angels, miners, and other handcrafted Erzgebirge decorations to create a festive and harmonious holiday scene.

This light arch is manufactured by our FRIEND Gahlenz. STEINBACH Volkskunst offers this unique piece in its online shop but does not manufacture the item itself.
