Whee, what fun! The Hummel girl, joyfully sledding with her favorite doll and gifts, awakens memories of unforgettable childhood days. Sculptor Helmut Fischer created this eager little sledder in 1996.

Since 1935, the beloved Hummel figurines have been traditionally handcrafted “Made in Germany” at the manufactory in Rödental, Franconia.

The Hummel Manufactory follows the original drawings of Franciscan Sister M.I. Hummel from the convent in Sießen. Maria Innocentia Hummel, born Berta Hummel in Massing, Bavaria, graduated as the top student of her class from the State School of Applied Arts in Munich. Her drawings of children engaged in everyday tasks, play, or nature scenes have become world-renowned. Only the Hummel Manufactory is authorized to use the drawings of the Franciscan Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel as inspiration and models for the creation of these figurines.
