Hum 2230/L – Angela

What would the Christmas story be without the heavenly voices of angels?
After all, in the biblical account, it is the angels who proclaim the joyful messages surrounding the birth of the Christ Child.

"Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying:
‘Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.’"
(from the Gospel of Luke)

Although the Bible offers no description of what angels actually look like, the Hummel Manufactory has remained true to the traditional image of these celestial beings — dressed in long, flowing robes and adorned with wings.

“Angela” wears a delicate flower crown in her hair and plays a lute. She is accompanied by the seated angel “Engele” (HUM 2230/T) and “Fritz” (HUM 2230/K), who holds a lantern in his hand.
