Hum 359 – Sitting Angel with Horn

The little angel blows his horn — Jesus Christ is born! Everyone should know it, everyone should hear it. With deep concentration, our angel announces the miracle of the Holy Night, forgetting everything around him. This musical herald was modeled by Reinhold Unger in 1972. Together with Hum 358 (Kneeling Angel with Candle) and Hum 357 (Kneeling Angel with Lantern), the three angels form a charming trio.

Since 1935, the beloved Hummel figurines have been traditionally handmade in Rödental, Franconia, Germany. The Hummel Manufactory continues to create its pieces based on the original drawings of the Franciscan Sister M.I. Hummel from the Convent of Sießen. Born Berta Hummel in Massing, Bavaria, she graduated at the top of her class from the State School of Applied Arts in Munich. Her drawings of children engaged in everyday activities, play, or in nature are known throughout the world.

Only the Hummel Manufactory is authorized to use the artwork of Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel as the inspiration and foundation for the design of its figurines.
