Miner Black & White (Illuminated)

The Miner Black & White is a beautifully handcrafted symbol of traditional German Christmas culture, lovingly created by our FRIEND partner Gahlenz.

Dressed in classic black with white trousers, deep green accents, and elegant gold details, this miner reflects the traditional appearance of Erzgebirge mining figures. The glossy black jacket with golden buttons, the crisp white collar, and the dark green miner’s hat decorated with the traditional crossed hammer and pick create a distinctive and timeless appearance. Golden candle holders complete the design and highlight the craftsmanship and attention to detail that make these figures treasured holiday decorations.

The miner is electrically illuminated and equipped with two candle-style lights. It operates via a power cord, allowing the figure to glow beautifully when connected to electricity. The warm light enhances the black, white, green, and gold decoration and makes the miner especially attractive when displayed in a window, on a sideboard, or as the centerpiece of a traditional Christmas arrangement.

In the Christmas traditions of Germany’s Ore Mountains (Erzgebirge), the Angel and the Miner belong together as a symbolic pair. For generations, families have placed an angel and a miner in their windows during the Christmas season. The angel represents heavenly light, while the miner symbolizes the people who worked deep underground, bringing light from the darkness of the mines. Together, they have become one of the most cherished symbols of Erzgebirge Christmas heritage.

Whether displayed on its own or paired with a matching Angel figure, the Miner Black & White brings tradition, character, warm electric illumination, and a meaningful piece of German holiday culture into your home. It serves as a beautiful centerpiece for seasonal displays and complements nutcrackers, smokers, and other handcrafted Christmas decorations.
