Smoker Forester with Dog

Bring the warmth of traditional Erzgebirge craftsmanship into your home with the Incense Smoker – Forester with Dog, Stained, a beautifully handcrafted wooden figure created by our FRIEND partner Gahlenz. Dressed in a traditional green forestry outfit with a matching hat, this distinctive character reflects the close connection between the Ore Mountains, their forests, and generations of woodland traditions.

The forester is accompanied by a small dog on a leash and carries a long hunting rifle at his side. Binoculars hang around his neck, while his pipe, gray hair, moustache, and carefully painted facial details give him a friendly and expressive appearance. The stained wood finish allows the natural grain to remain visible and combines beautifully with the rich green tones, creating a warm and authentic handcrafted character.

Designed as a traditional Räuchermann, or incense smoker, the figure can be used with suitable incense cones to create the cozy fragrance and atmosphere associated with an Erzgebirge Christmas. As the incense burns inside the wooden body, the smoke gently escapes through the figure’s mouth, bringing the Incense Smoker – Forester with Dog charmingly to life.

Crafted from wood and carefully finished in the Erzgebirge, this figure reflects traditional woodworking techniques and close attention to detail. The forester, his dog, and the carefully designed accessories create a lively woodland scene that makes this smoker especially appealing to collectors of hunting, forestry, and traditional German folk-art figures.

This figure is manufactured by our FRIEND Gahlenz. STEINBACH Volkskunst offers this unique piece in its online shop but does not manufacture the item itself.

Whether displayed during the Christmas season or enjoyed year-round as part of a traditional German wooden folk-art collection, the Incense Smoker – Forester with Dog, Stained brings woodland character, handcrafted detail, and the unmistakable spirit of Erzgebirge tradition into your home.

Handmade in Germany by our FRIEND Gahlenz.
