Twenty-five years after September 11, 2001, Steinbach honors the extraordinary courage, sacrifice, and selflessness of the firefighters who answered the call on one of America’s darkest days.The American Firefighter is unlike any Nutcracker we have created before. Shown kneeling in quiet reflection, he holds the American flag while his firefighter helmet rests beside him – a powerful symbol of respect and remembrance for those who served, those who sacrificed, and those who never came home.

Every detail has meaning. His FDNY-inspired turnout gear features a specially developed worn and dust-marked finish, created to reflect the reality of service. From the reflective stripes and suspenders to the helmet and carefully crafted equipment, each element was thoughtfully designed to express our respect and remembrance.

Even the smallest details tell part of the story. The number 343 on his helmet honors the 343 FDNY firefighters who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. The words “Never Forget 9/11” serve as a lasting reminder of their sacrifice.

The American flag represents the unity and resilience that followed September 11, while his kneeling pose expresses something words often cannot: respect, gratitude, and remembrance.
