Chubby Krampus

Feared and revered for centuries, Krampus emerges from Alpine folklore as the dark counterpart to Saint Nicholas — a guardian of order who punishes mischief and reminds all that actions have consequences. “Krampus – The Dark Companion” captures this ancient legend in the unmistakable form of a handcrafted nutcracker.

With his imposing horns, piercing eyes, and long white beard, this Krampus commands attention. Wrapped in dark, rugged garments, he carries a rope and bell — symbols of his ominous task — while a basket filled with gifts (or warnings) rests on his back. Every detail tells a story of winter nights, echoing bells, and the age-old traditions of Central Europe.

Lovingly handcrafted and painted by hand in Germany, this nutcracker reflects the master craftsmanship Steinbach is known for. From the expressive face to the textured fabrics and carefully carved wooden elements, each Krampus is a unique work of art.

Perfect for collectors who appreciate folklore, mythology, and distinctive holiday décor, Krampus – The Dark Companion brings a bold and dramatic presence to the Christmas season. Whether displayed alone or alongside traditional nutcrackers, he stands as a powerful reminder of the darker tales woven into the magic of winter.
