Smoker Coachman

Bring the warmth of traditional Erzgebirge craftsmanship into your home with the Incense Smoker – Coachman, a beautifully handcrafted wooden figure created by our FRIEND partner Gahlenz. Dressed in a vivid red coat with dark buttons, a light blue top hat with a gold accent, and a soft green scarf, this charming character recalls the traditional coachmen who once guided horse-drawn carriages through towns and countryside.

A classic smoking pipe, rosy cheeks, and carefully painted facial details give the coachman a friendly and nostalgic expression. The combination of bright red, soft blue, green, and gold creates a lively yet traditional appearance, while the simple wooden form reflects the distinctive character of Erzgebirge folk art.

Designed as a traditional Räuchermann, or incense smoker, the figure can be used with suitable incense cones to create the cozy fragrance and atmosphere associated with an Erzgebirge Christmas. As the incense burns inside the wooden body, the smoke gently escapes through the figure’s mouth, bringing the Incense Smoker – Coachman charmingly to life.

Crafted from wood and colorfully finished in the Erzgebirge, this figure reflects traditional woodworking techniques and careful attention to detail. Whether displayed on a shelf, mantel, table, or as part of a larger Christmas arrangement, it adds nostalgic character, cheerful color, and authentic German folk-art charm to your holiday décor.

This figure is manufactured by our FRIEND Gahlenz. STEINBACH Volkskunst offers this unique piece in its online shop but does not manufacture the item itself.

Whether enjoyed during the Christmas season or collected year-round as part of a traditional German wooden folk-art collection, the Incense Smoker – Coachman brings historic charm, handcrafted detail, and the unmistakable spirit of Erzgebirge craftsmanship into your home.

Handmade in Germany by our FRIEND Gahlenz.
