Smoker Policeman

Bring the charm of traditional Erzgebirge craftsmanship into your home with the Incense Smoker – Policeman, a beautifully handcrafted wooden figure created by our FRIEND partner Gahlenz. Dressed in a muted green uniform with a red collar and wearing a classic black police helmet with gold details, this distinctive character recalls the appearance of historic German policemen and adds a nostalgic touch to any collection.

The policeman carries a wooden saber at his side, while his neatly painted moustache, rosy cheeks, and traditional smoking pipe give him a friendly and expressive appearance. The combination of green, black, red, and gold creates a balanced and traditional color palette, while the simple wooden form reflects the unmistakable character of Erzgebirge folk art.

Designed as a traditional Räuchermann, or incense smoker, the figure can be used with suitable incense cones to create the cozy fragrance and atmosphere associated with an Erzgebirge Christmas. As the incense burns inside the wooden body, the smoke gently escapes through the figure’s mouth, bringing the Incense Smoker – Policeman charmingly to life.

Crafted from wood and colorfully finished in the Erzgebirge, this figure reflects traditional woodworking techniques and careful attention to detail. Whether displayed on a shelf, mantel, table, or as part of a larger Christmas arrangement, it adds historical character, handcrafted charm, and authentic German folk-art tradition to your décor.

This figure is manufactured by our FRIEND Gahlenz. STEINBACH Volkskunst offers this unique piece in its online shop but does not manufacture the item itself.

Whether enjoyed during the Christmas season or collected year-round as part of a traditional German wooden folk-art collection, the Incense Smoker – Policeman brings nostalgic character, fine craftsmanship, and the unmistakable spirit of Erzgebirge tradition into your home.
