Smoker Witch

Step into the magical world of traditional German folk art with the Incense Smoker Witch, a charmingly handcrafted figure created by our FRIEND partner Gahlenz in the Erzgebirge region of Germany. Dressed in a bright orange coat and classic black apron, this cheerful witch carries all the essentials for a little bit of Halloween magic: a broom in one hand, a black kettle in the other, and a mischievous black cat perched on her shoulder. Her tall, pointed black hat, rosy cheeks, and surprised expression give her an especially playful character.

With her broom ready and kettle in hand, this little witch looks as though she has just stepped out of her cottage and is preparing for a night of magical mischief. Her black cat companion adds another delightful touch to the story, while the carefully painted details and traditional wooden construction showcase the craftsmanship of the Erzgebirge.

Like a traditional Räuchermann, the Witch comes to life when an incense cone is placed inside her. As the incense burns, fragrant smoke gently escapes through her open mouth, creating a cozy and atmospheric experience that connects this playful Halloween character with the centuries-old tradition of Erzgebirge incense smokers. Gahlenz figures are made using traditional craftsmanship, selected woods, and carefully applied paints and finishes.

This smoker is manufactured by our FRIEND Gahlenz. STEINBACH Volkskunst offers this unique piece in its online shop but does not manufacture the item itself. Whether she becomes the centerpiece of your Halloween decorations, joins a collection of Erzgebirge folk art, or simply adds a touch of spooky charm to your home, the Incense Smoker Witch brings together traditional German craftsmanship, playful storytelling, and a little bit of Halloween magic.
